did you know that birds sleep

in flight?

isn't it incredible

that they are born with blind faith,

their entire small body knows

that their wings

will catch the wind

and so they close their eyes

and while they rest, they know.

so maybe we can learn something

about where hope lives:

not anywhere else

but in our own muscles and bones.
